I enjoyed Michael
Eastman work in Structure and Color at the Edwynn Houk Gallery,
which was the first stop on our tour. His work was beautiful and attractive without
any people or clothes in the photographs.
The pieces had a focus on a space and light. Eastman highlights the structures of a
building and how with the perfect light and color can transform just a space
into a romantic illusion. Typically I only like people in photos but these were
different and enchanting on their own.
The photos felt lived in, but untouched at the same time. The vibrant colors and elaborate décor made
the rooms feel as if they were on a Victorian movie set.
