Kelly Mullin 03 // Ken Kitano

Ken Kitano was born in 1968 in Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Nihon University's College of Industrial Technology in 1991. His photographs seem to take us back to the original use of film cameras. Using them to see in to people and their lives. The use of overlaying the negatives allows the viewer to almost see relatives and different times of the person who can clearly be seen in the center.

Film always brings to the table something more than what digital can. It always seems to add that level of personal/handmade touch. This allows for the images to become even more powerful.

The images he creates always seem to add some sort of aspect of time. Even of the people because the motion blur aspect allows for the viewer to almost feel as if time is passing around this person. In many of his other images he also using the blur to create to concept of time passing.

I plan on possibly using the concept of a multiple image manipulation to create emotion. I want the picture to be able to show someones emotion/personality within the created scene. I don't do a lot of photo munipulation so it will be fun to experiment with. Also I plan on printing bigger which will also be new for me.
